Speak no evil: Reporters turned away at oily beaches by BP contractors

by Roman Lewis
NEW ORLEANS — Not to beat a dead horse, but you know how I've been telling you folks that the BP Horizon spill is the most government controlled media event since, well, Vietnam?

Well, here's one more ounce of proof in that pudding.

CBS has footage, provided below, of their reporters being turned away from a public beach in Louisiana where they were filming oil washing up on shore.

"This is BP's rules, it's not ours," said someone aboard the boat, adding that the reporters risked arrest if they remained.

Coast Guard officials, aka BP employees, told CBS that they'll look into it. Yes, that and Sasquatch. They're gonna get right on that.

Oh, wait, I forgot, Sasquatch is supposed to be banding together a team of, well, sasquatches, to cruise the shoreline and absorb as much oil as they can.
